Actions on new user sign-up through Google

Hi all,

Quick question… when a new user signs up to my website it triggers a welcome email.

This works well with the traditional sign up form, however when using the Google sign-in/register workflow the action for sign-up and register are the same so how do I know if it’s a new user or existing user clicking the button?
