Announcing Buildprint AI: Build on Bubble with Claude Code and Codex šŸŽ‰

Been using Buildprint the past few days (finally) with 6.1 Sol. Getting superb results.

It’s been awesome in other harnesses too.

I’m wondering if anyone would be willing to put up a video explaining how to set up CLI and actually show us web interface users some examples utilising billprint with Bubble using CLI.

I personally find it really hard to understand why CLI would be better?

I just think it would be really helpful for the community there’s just nothing out there for us visual learners who are amateurs to follow.

Regards

Why is Buildprint asking me for my bubble credentials? It says it can’t test because it doesn’t have the bubble credentials. It’s never needed them before to test, why does it need them now? It’s never had a problem running as a user in it’s own browser and testing on it’s own.

This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. I even forked the conversation to see if it can bypass it and I still get the same thing. In the past I’d get over it by just starting a new chat entirely but right now it’s in the middle of a build and I’ve been going back and forth with it for hours to get to this point. I don’t want to start a new chat.

Has anyone experienced this before?

have you given it the run mode username and password from your app’s general settings?

edit: looks like it asked you for them:

you can set them in your Buildprint project settings too

Why does it need those credentials now tho? It hasn’t needed them before to run tests. Anyway we can skip this?

No, just add it. It can’t run a browser test if it can’t open your page. The project settings field was likely reset if someone (even temporarily) changed the runmode username/password in Bubble.

I’m planning to get stuck into the command line this week, but I’ve got a quick question: can I run the web app and the CLI simultaneously?

W ith all the buzz around the CLI, it feels like an essential skill to pick up. Everyone keeps saying it unlocks genuine superpowers.

To be completely honest, I haven’t quite had that ā€œaha!ā€ moment yet, which is exactly why I want to put in the effort and get my head around it.

Before I dive in, though is running both side by side actually feasible?

I’m using codex with build print so for tutorials should I be following command line codex cli tutorials?

Thanks very much in advance

To get started, download the ChatGPT app.

Run Codex on your computer inside the ChatGPT app. Ask it to install the CLI using these docs: Getting started | Buildprint | Docs

It will ask you for your token, which you can get from Integrations → Personal access tokens.

Then, ask ChatGPT to clone your app or tell you what it can do. It’ll help you learn alongside it!

yes, they’re just two different ways of interacting with the same thing

Who up waiting for this

it exists, you don’t need a buildprint account now and can pass the CLI your .bubble file, with no account/logs. it’s read-only though

OK, I’ll check it out, didn’t even know! Would a ā€œpass-throughā€ local mode ever be possible? Where the changes are made entirely through a local folder using a desktop app?

it’s technically possible but buildprint has to make money somehow

Would be willing to pay a one-time license fee but that might be too old-school for you

Edit: Actually I pay a monthly sub for Premiere but it runs locally so…

Well jokes on you for paying for an Adobe product

I tried Resolve first and it was disgusting to use and laggy so…

i never said don’t use an adobe product

buildprint one shot these for one of our clients today

they’re trying to migrate out of bubble but struggling because they’re now building stuff too fast with buildprint

a revamped calendar built natively in Bubble, previously a plugin:

a built in AI chat that chats with their data:

overhauled charts:

from that client:

it really is fun. the e2e testing and the double checking in prudction data a few hours in is really where the speed comes from too. can just build with crazy confidence, review/test the tricky parts, and your done

Things are moving along nicely now.

I’ve got the CLI set up with Codex and pulled in the branch I want to work on.

It looks like all my skills have synced across too, which is brilliant.

Next up, I want to get my head around the agent file. Is it fair to assume the .agent file in Codex mirrors what sits under the General and Styles tabs in Buildprint (specifically the App Summary and Style Preferences)?

I just want to ensure everything is properly aligned before I start making changes to the branch so everything stays consistent with the web app.

Any help would be awesome.

Ya exactly!

Don’t overthink it, just ask Buildprint for what you want, and it’ll handle it. It’ll ask you for confirmation where necessary (e.g if you’re unclear what branch you want the work on, or if you want it to apply the changes to Bubble).

In Codex, you’ll even be able to see the files it’s editing.

I’m just diving into the CLI too, so I created a scratch page in Bubble and just went at it with Codex for 45 mins (design, style preferences are important, testing MCPs, etc.)

Using a blank page to experiment helped and there’s no damage to your app.
