# Anyone know how to extract a file’s name on upload?

Does anyone know how to get the name of an uploaded file as text that can then be used in a text field? I thought it would’ve been a default option with the file uploaded, but not seeing that. ☹

You should be able to access the ‘file name’ property of things of File and Picture types.

`FileUploader's File's filename` should do this.
