Thanks @fede.bubble . If I can have the data from my app from a few days ago I can cross check it with the data in my app now. This will prevent users from seeing the changes and causing me a lot less stress. How do I go about getting my data backup?

No. I also provide support for my plugins and keep track of what’s going on for my clients apps.

If you flagged my post for talking about another “Backend” tool, then Xano posts should be flagged too.

Also just to confirm, the changing of the wrong data is something bubble is doing?

I actually don’t know enough about the process to say yes or no. My understanding is that the success team is working with a handful of reports related to this.

Jeez this is really concerning.

I’ve had weird issues the past 48 hours on a couple apps with data not matching between run-mode and DB tab and users not being able to login. Not sure if they were caused by this but my hunch is they may have been.

@fede.bubble appreciate you being in here and keeping us informed. Is this properly resolved now?

I’m restricting access to the admin portal of one of my apps altogether right now until I’m sure this is resolved.

Thank you.

Had some great advice from Riya on support to check data edited between the hours the issue occurred and cross check it with my data backup.

Will find, or hopefully not find, any discrepancies before my users do!

Matt, mind submitting a bug report via [Bubble Support Center](http://bubble.io/support) ? it’s the easiest way for the team to investigate new and ongoing issues

@fede.bubble and @josh should we be working to try and find corrupted data or is fixing corrupted data part of what the internal team looking at this is working on?

you can do a sanity check around the time of the incident and see if anything looks weird with your data. The success team is helping affected users find and mitigate things, but it would be impractical for them to try to tackle everyone (huge amount of data as you can imagine)

Edit: to expand on this. During the incident some workflows ran with the wrong data. Depending on what the workflow was doing, the wrong data might’ve written or change things. Once the fix was deployed this stopped.

Yikes.
Can we get the exact time range for this so we can find and fix any issues?

And was this isolated to any specific types of workflows or actions, and if so what ones exactly?

Support informed me that it was 12:00PM to 6:00PM EDT on June 3rd

I don’t know specific workflows on mine that were corrupted, if at all now, so I’m sifting through data that was created or edited between these times to see if I can find any obvious issues and comparing it to my last data backup.

@fede.bubble
**Developers should NOT have had to find this news by accident!!!**

I was looking for an explanation of why my attempts modify data are being treated as if they were uploads and found this.

A screw up of this proportion has serious legal implications, as it sounds like some users could have had access to another users records and could even have triggered financial transactions on their accounts. Is that not the case?

Bubble should send a note to each and every developer alerting them to this sort of event, not leave it up to them to find out about it on the Forum.

**A data leak of this nature is no different from a hack and as such we may be legally required to inform our users of the incident. We need to know how long these sorts of issues lasted and list of all transactions/event that happened during that time so that we can (if appropriate) reach out to confirm that our users were in fact responsible for making those transactions.**

It seems likely that this issue will also have precipitated a roll back of some sort. Was this a roll back of data, application dev or both?

I have had the distinct impression that I had already made certain changes over the last week… what I had put down to early onset Altzheimer’s seems like it could be more a case of Bubble backtracking.

@fede.bubble

I would like to get a report on what if any impact this has had on my app/users.
How does one connect with the success team?
How are we supposed to refer to this specific incident?

@fede.bubble

I think that all developers , may be legally required to tell our users of any data leaks. So while it may seem like a lot of work, I think that **Bubble may be legally required to PROACTIVELY provide this data to ALL Developers.**

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding the extent to which data privacy has been compromised here.

Hey @DataJunky, thanks for the posts. Totally understandable that you’re frustrated with this. Pretty sure everyone is.

The team deployed the fix for this but, as you have noticed, there might be lasting effects on some apps. My understanding is that the success team is working with affected devs in a case by case basis, so the best thing to do would be to connect with them.

As for the rest, I’ll share internally with the team so everyone is aware of your concerns.
