What is your average monthly cost for maps, and how are you using them?

This is a question that does not seem to have any type of an answer in the places where you are making a purchase. People selling the products have a vested interest in making the pricing convoluted: it’s much more likely to result in unintentional spending.
There are lots of APIs tied into map services, the ways that the different services interrelate–and in some instances are interdependent–is entirely unclear.
I’m hoping some people who have been using maps APIs can share their monthly costs, and give the simplest possible summation of what you’re using the maps for?
