Best practice to limit sales to a specific country

Community - reaching out for advice on what the best practice is to limit the sale of goods/services to a specific country or list of countries.

I am integrated with Stripe, their customer service didn’t have anything on their end to offer when I inquired (surprised I had no control over their country drop-down during checkout).

I am prepped to roll out shortly but want to limit the initial launch to just the U.S. while I make sure I have all my I’s dotted and T’s crossed for distribution to other countries sometime next year.

The simplest in my head is a speed bump where I ask purchasers to acknowledge they are a U.S. customers before navigating to Stripe, but that’s a fairly non-elegant solution.
