Better way to update?

Hey everyone,

First of all, I just want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work the Bubble Mobile team has been doing. I released my app on the App Store a few days ago, and honestly, the whole experience has been amazing, smooth, intuitive, and exciting. Huge thanks to the team for making this possible! :raising_hands:

That said, I wanted to share a bit of feedback and start a conversation around the app update flow.

Right now, the update process isn’t very intuitive for end users. Requiring them to trigger something on the backend to detect a new version, and then manually close and reopen the app, can be confusing, especially for less tech-savvy users who may not even know how to properly “force close” an app.

Would it be possible for the app to automatically check and apply updates during the splash screen, before the main interface loads? This would make a huge difference, particularly for users who just downloaded the app from the App Store but still need to manually restart it to get the latest OTA build.

My app functions like a social platform, so I’m pushing updates almost daily. That means users are constantly seeing the “update required” screen, which can quickly become frustrating.

So my questions are:

  • Is there any plan on the roadmap to make the update process more seamless?

  • Or is there a known best practice or workaround to make this experience smoother for users?

Thanks again to the Bubble team for the great progress so far, and to anyone else who might share insights on this! :folded_hands:

Having a silent update option would be nice.

The real question is, do you really need to release updates every day? I think the problem is there.. you have to try to dilute them as much as possible and get to one every 5/7 days in my opinion. Evaluate the OTA update in some cases.
