I built an app couple years ago and I struggle a lot to get it. By this time, bubble was lagging, the UI wasn’t great, lot of editor bugs, many people were disappointed and me as well. By the way, I checked the forum and ALL the powers users from this time disappear. 2 weeks ago, I checked my app and wanted to finish it and launch it. My bubble app is 80% finished. Stripe, user security and translating need to be added. Now, the editor, Workflow section and many little things make me completely lost when checking my app. Honestly, I had a lot of hate from bubble and I still don’t like it even (I have to be honest), they really improve it. But still a lot of outages and for me it’s something I have experienced to much .
What should I do? Finish the app and launch it in 1 or 2 weeks and struggling to make update. for a mvp it could be enough to check the market.
Or build it from scratch with Claude or zite.com. It would take me a month of hard work and more $ to spend but I would be so happy to escape bubble. In the future, it will be way more easy to add new features. But I have to test the market.
I’m very confused knowing I’m running my web design studio to make some $. So I’ll work on my app in the evening and I need to watch a course to properly build the app. Something I’m very excited for because I have others ideas I want to make with Claude and vscode in the near future.
Coming from bubble it’s better to used an IDE like vscode. You have a better view of your project and it’s all on your computer or github. You can find 4 or 6 hours courses on udemy and there’s Claude academy for free as a good start as well. I’m at the point where I’ll take a course if I decide to go with Claude code.
You’re absolutely right, I was thinking about more about content creators, this is how I started my bubble journey. Gregory j was a really good start. Do you have idea about my main problem? Or what do you think about connecting bubble to Claude?
That could be a good tool to help you figure out how your app is building but if you use a IDE you don’t really need this. Everything is sort in folders on your computer
From what I read the main problem was the learning curve in bubble and not having sufficient experience to know exactly how to build everything needed. For that problem the same courses available two years ago when you started should still be helpful. You may find new courses or videos added since then helpful as well. Additionally, LLMs are pretty good at searching and giving passable implementations to get a bubble app built, just don’t expect the implementations suggested by an LLM to match a bubble power users approach.
In terms of connecting bubble to Claude, I don’t know, I’ve never used an LLM for building a bubble app, but I’ve asked ChatGPT questions and find the approaches suggested to be less than optimized but half of the time would work. I’d imagine if you are already 80% complete, stay with Bubble to finish it, then attempt the actual hard part, monetize and scale it, before you decide if you need to rebuild because of any limitations you find with experience operating the app in Bubble.
I think you could rebuild your app to 80% on Claude in a weekend. All of my apps that I rebuilt into real code with Claude or Codex took me probably 2-3 days to get to 80%. It’s the last 20% that is always harder to do. Just watch a movie while Claude does its thing.
