Bubble Summer Mobile App Challenge

Hello,

For the challenge, do we need to publish it on Android and iOS or it can be only on one operating system ?

Hey everyone,
I joined the challenge a bit late and started working on my app last weekend. It’s now ready to be published, and I’ve submitted the form. Just wondering — how will I know if my app has been accepted as an entry for the contest? Also, is there anything I need to do to activate the 1-month free Starter Plan?
Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

There are 3 categories: best iOS, best Android, and best companion to an existing webapp.

So up to you!

Just make sure you have submitted the form and followed the instructions and you should be okay

My app is ready, and I’m participating in the “Best Companion App for an Existing Web Application” category.

I’m finalizing a short presentation video that I’ll share on X and LinkedIn to promote the project.

I’ve already submitted the form to receive the promotional code that allows me to upgrade to the Starter plan for 1 month, but I haven’t received a response yet.

Please recheck your email, I sent you a note 3 hours ago. Good luck for the challenge!

@fede.bubble The issue at hand is the requirement to deploy on both Android and iOS platforms simultaneously, rather than having the option to publish on just one. This can present challenges for those who do not own both types of devices, as it complicates the process of testing builds effectively.

You don’t need to do both unless you want to compete in both categories.
There are 3: best iOS, best Android and best companion to web app.

So you can focus on whichever category you want to participate in!

I’m building an Android app as a companion to my web app. I can’t even deploy to Live unless I completed the iOS settings.

The official rules mention that participants can receive a 1-month free coupon for the Starter plan, which covers the requirement to be on a paid plan in order to publish the app. However, while following the publishing guide, I noticed that both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store require a developer account — which come with fees (US$25 for Google and US$99/year for Apple).

My question is:
:right_arrow: Do participants need to pay these developer account fees themselves, even though the contest is supposed to be free?
Or is there any support from Bubble to cover those costs as well?

Heyy @domcarlosadriano

The developer fees are completely separate from the competition.
The contest is mainly just for releasing an app with Bubble Native.

However, you need to sort out your Apple developer account and Google developer account by yourself and also cover the fees for opening those accounts by yourself.

You can, just fill in the description.

I completed the form but never received the code. How is that sent?

Quick Question,
Is it actually possible to have all the Features from my Bubble.io webapp in native mobile app ? The reason for this is because I couldn’t find any of the Bubble Editor Plugins available in native mobile app.

The current Native mobile editor does not have 1:1 feature parity with the web app editor. Some of those features are scheduled upgrades in our roadmaps, and some are because mobile apps are distinct from the typical UX/UI experience of the web

Credits are directly deposited into your Bubble account. I think I gave you credits on Monday, please let me know if not

Yes, you did. All good!

Just Submitted our Intelligent AI App,
Man that was an Epic Journey I learned a lot from this challenge.
