Building a Bubble Dev Portfolio: Tools & Pricing Strategy Help

As the festive season approaches, I’m wrapping up my current project with the next one scheduled to begin in the new year. I’ve decided to dedicate some time to building my portfolio. Although I should have developed this earlier, most of my clients have come through word-of-mouth referrals, so it hasn’t been an urgent priority.

From reviewing numerous portfolio pages, I’ve observed that the most effective and potentially highest-converting ones feature detailed project development descriptions alongside professional screenshots. I think, these elements help potential clients understand the development process and set clear expectations for deliverables. With this in mind, I’d appreciate your input on the following:

  1. Could you recommend apps/tools for creating compelling case study pages? I’m particularly interested in tools that can help generate attractive project descriptions and screenshots based on project input.

  2. What tools would you suggest for automating the referral gathering process? Currently, I’m handling this manually and considering using Clutch to enhance review credibility.

  3. Should I disclose development costs (with client permission)? While this information could provide valuable pricing context for potential clients, I want to avoid situations where past project quotations are used as leverage in negotiations.

Regarding the first point: While AI solutions are available for descriptions and screenshot generation, they still require significant manual effort. I’m wondering if there are more efficient alternatives available.

Thanks in advance for your help!
