Building a website blocker with Bubble

Hi, first post here…hello!

Apologies if I’ve put my question in the wrong category and thanks in advance for your help

I want to build a website blocker - similar to freedom.to / blocksite.to / focusme.com - and I’m exploring if bubble is a suitable option to make an MVP.

Initially I’d like to create native-like Mac and Android apps, so I’ll need to use some sort of wrapper, but I’m unsure if they will give sufficient access to the system to do things like block websites.

Typically these apps need access to Accessibility on Android. Not 100% sure how this works on a Mac - editing the .hosts file? Does anyone know if it’s possible to access this type of functionality from bubble in general, or within a native-app wrapper solution?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I imagine it like a chrome extension, you could do something like Superbuild — Build Chrome Extensions and Website Widgets With Bubble

An in the chrome extension add a lookup for the users marked website as blocked and redirect them to some where else if ir was found.

let me know if its clear.

Thanks for the reply @Clasicwebtools! Sorry to be only just responding.

Yes that does make sense. Great answer.

Is there a similar way to achieve the functionality on iOS/Android? Or a way to block apps from opening on MacOS?

Thanks in advance for your help
