It doesn’t seem to work for me when I select Resize to fit the dimensions by cropping for an image filed I have added via the Linkpreview plugin from https://www.linkpreview.net - I just get the original rectangular image.
As far as I understand you can only apply it to already saved (i.e. saved to S3) images but that doesn’t work reliably either
