Can I safely delete a parent branch?

I would like to know if deleting a parent branch has any impact on its child branches.

I expect/hope that it doesn’t and that any child branches will simply move up a level in the tree but I also can’t afford to lose the work on the child branch.

  • Main
    • Branch that has already merged with main (I’d like to delete this one)
      • Working branch
    • Another branch just hanging there

It seems like git behaves this way, but I couldn’t find this specific use case described in bubble’s documentation.

Yup this works - for instance if you want to rename a branch, you can just create a child and delete the parent

It’s safe!
