Aligning on scope and pricing with an outsourced developer can be a really frustrating process, whether you’re building on Bubble or using conventional code. After hundreds of scoping calls with clients over the past three years, we’ve tried to boil down our methodology for breaking any app idea into its logical components, and to offer it to anyone.
The result is Clementine, a free self-service tool where you can build a scope doc in a few minutes, get real-time price and timing quotes as you go (so you can decide what to prioritize), and view some suggested live pages based on the features you include.
We hope this tool can serve as a helpful starting point for anyone trying to put their new idea down on paper, whether that’s to share it with their team, investors, or developers. This is just the first version, so please send any feedback or suggestions for improvement!
I have been looking at this for a while, it is a very well executed tool.
Do you use this also internally? I can imagine potential clients find this a bit daunting at first or want to know you a bit better before investing in the scope through Clementine.
Thanks @vincent56 and great point. We do use this internally to make sure we price our builds consistently, and our standard onboarding flow sends clients to chat with us, rather than making them scope something themselves. This is just another option for folks who like to fiddle first.
@julie we’re using Drift for messaging. They have a bot plan (with special pricing for startups) where you can customize a conversation flow. @maria.posa made the logo
