Curious if other people who use Zeroqode plugins experience something similar. All my ZQ plugins require updating frequently, but usually its updating some description or the like. But in my Editor’s plugins section, all Zeroqode plugin descriptions display like in the attachment. Since I’m always updating ZQ plugins because description has been updated, beginning to feel complicit in worsening my Bubble experience. .
Hi @ron2, thanks a lot for raising this and sharing your experience.
You’re absolutely right — when we update the plugin descriptions (like details, links, or documentation), Bubble requires us to push a full plugin update for those changes to appear. Unfortunately, there’s currently no way for us to edit the plugin info without it triggering an update prompt in the Editor.
As for the BBCode/tags showing in the plugin section of the Editor — that’s expected, since the plugin descriptions are rendered differently there. On the Bubble marketplace page they appear formatted correctly, but the Editor treats the same content as plain text, which is why you see the raw tags.
That said, you can absolutely stick to a version of the plugin that works well for your app. These updates are not mandatory to install unless there’s a bug fix or a functionality improvement that you need. Marketing or documentation updates won’t affect your plugin’s performance, so you can safely skip them.
We really appreciate your patience and feedback as we navigate these platform limitations. Hopefully, we’ll see some improvements to this process from Bubble’s side in the future too.
Thanks very much for your reply. It really does same to be an unreasonable choice to make between something that looks good on the marketplace but is not legible in the Editor (which is where I usually go for reference on a plugin), or readable in the Editor but looks uninteresting in the marketplace. Seems like it would not take all that much for Bubble to fix that. A small quality of life change that would greatly improve the UX for people like me and many others with a number of ZQ plugins. Best regards, will keep an eye out for any improvements and skip cosmetic upgrades (though still have to check whenever there is an upgrade available because won’t know it’s cosmetic until you check!). - Ron
Thanks again for your thoughtful follow-up — we completely agree, this is definitely a small but meaningful UX improvement that could have a positive impact on many plugin users.
It might be worth submitting your suggestion directly to Bubble via their Idea Board or support — hearing this feedback from experienced users can really help drive change.
Meanwhile, we truly appreciate your understanding and support. If you ever feel like sharing a quick review about your experience with our plugins, it would mean a lot: https://zeroqode.com/review
