# Database App Data Views

I am confused about how the database views works.

When I change the fields to display by pressing the text button with “14 additional fields”

A new or “modified” set of data appears here:

This makes it confusing for me as I now have two different sets of the same data in the database.

I have a few questions about this:

1. Are there in fact two different sets of data now?

2. Will it affect my app if I delete the original view?

3. How can we select the data fields to display without creating the new “modified” view?

I think ita just a matter of content design. Maybe it should be called new view and not modified. It’s in fact just a new view of the data, thats it. The original data stays the same. There is no new copy of the data.

Do you know if deleting the original view will have any negative consequences? I only need one view.

Yup, what mangooly said. Oh, and you can’t delete the original view; only the modified view will have the trash can icon next to it. So, if you only want one view, you have to delete the modified view.
