Deploying to Live - Unexpected results

Hi all, today I deployed from dev to live with no errors or issues, and my live app would not return any search results for one of my databases data types. Works in Dev, just not in live. No matter what part of the app is doing the search, no records are returned.
I rolled back to the previous version and the issue went away.
No changes have been made to the searches, no new fields have been introduced on that data type, this is a code that hasn’t been touched for months. Just simply stopped returning records. No errors in the log, nothing to indicate anything unusual.
Has anyone ever had this issue and resolved it?

Does your live database have data in it?

Sure does. Backing out the deployment makes it re-appear.
