While a disable would be nice, what they really need to do is refine what ‘triggers’ a spike - what freaks most new users out is when they go from 10WU a day to running a bulk operation on a list to update the DB, and the next day get a ‘spike’ warning because they used 1000 and not 10. Spikes should be more an indication of “you’re going to use up your WU on the current course” as opposed to “today’s percentage of usage was higher than yesterday’s”
