Display Date Picker on Page Load

Hi all.

I am creating a page that users can submit an event, it has various layers that hides / shows elements through the process.
I want to load the calendar view on page load for the Date picker where a user just clicks the date to select it, or clicks another day to change it, rather then having to click the Date Picker Element to load the calendar view. Is this possible?

I am not familiar with JavaScript, so although this may be the only option, I would need some help with this.

I also want to be able to customise the view of the Calendar.

I see two options. Use a date picker plugin that have an “inline” calendar option or instead of a date picker, just use a calendar.
