I’m trying to apply a boxshadow on a shortlist Item. It shows up in my editor but not in Bubble Go or in the browser preview. I’ve seen others report issues with box shadow showing on certain elements. Is anyone able to apply box shadow to a shortlist item?
I’ve had this issue. It’s hard to explain but you have to check if the edge of the shorlist cell is clipping what is inside the cell. If you drop a group inside the cell and have it filling the container then try to apply a box shadow, the edge of the cell will clip it. AFAIK there’s no way to apply a drop shadow to appear “outside” the cell. You may be able to solve it by designing the shortlist wider than your actual content, then putting a group inside with margins on all sides then applying a drop shadow to that.
A few things that may help you:
- Make sure the element has a background color; shadows don’t show on fully transparent elements.
- Try applying the box-shadow on a group/container around the shortlist item instead of the item itself.
- Check for overflow: hidden on parent elements—it can clip shadows.
I’m struggling. I think I tried implementing everything suggested. In the editor the box shadow shows up, but when I preview it isn’t there.
Have you tried Bubble Go?
Yep, it’s the same in both Bubble Go and in the browser preview.
