Sony has a track record that is verifiable and public. What other applications have you had developed and turned into a profit making application/business? That could be seen as what you bring to the table other than an idea.

Also, Sony pays for all of the marketing/promotion of the movie, and has a budget set aside for such things, as well as paying for all of the supporting roles (maybe not actors but camera crew, music and makeup types etc.) - these supporting roles could be seen as the digital marketing agency in charge of overseeing the multiple online channels the app is promoted through, as well as the sales representatives or sales agents that are doing the leg work of getting new paid signups etc.

Best advice I ever got in regards to attempting to do a startup came from a friend of my father. My father put us together for a breakfast to speak on my idea and what it was I wanted to achieve. My friends father told me, ‘no offense, but who the hell are you. I’m here out of respect for your father, but what have you ever done? Why would anybody give you their money to build your idea?’ He elaborated and told me, ‘if I had any chance of getting some funding, I needed to either have a successful track record of turning my ideas into profit making businesses, or demonstrate and showcase that I have already invested into the new idea myself, through having an MVP developed and getting users so as to demonstrate a product to market fit.’

It was after that meeting that I attempted to find developers who could build the MVP for me so that I could then attempt the product to market fit portion and gain some users to demonstrate traction. When 6 months of going to meetups and attempting to tap into my limited network of developers, failed to find a developer who would buy into my dream, I found Bubble and learned how to build it myself.

Most investments into startups are for the team behind it, and that would hold true when attempting to create a partnership with a developer, implying the developer would have to be ‘buying into’ you (as the team right now seems to be you).

What is it about you, that a competent developer should know, in order for that developer to see this offer as worth their investment…after all time is money and most developers charge money for the time it takes them to develop, so a developer developing for free, is a developer investing into a business that has yet to launch.

If you are interested in pursuing this, I can build it.
