Wait, I have to pay to upgrade to see the results?

Welp, ignorance is bliss I suppose. :sunglasses:

This reminds me of those old-school Boomer antivirus scams that would say something like, “57 Threats Detected! Pay $99 to clear threats.”

Finally got access and I can’t see anything on mobile still. :man_facepalming: Seems like I won’t be able to see my issues anyways on such a low plan too. I hope Bubble fixes some of these issues or it will just add more frustration to users instead of adding value.

I thought Flusk dashboard didn’t have mobile compatibility at all - which is totally fair because I don’t see how people would be able to effectively engage with their app’s security on mobile!

Secure get securer

That’s funny.

It also reminds me of one of those sites that claim you can look anyone up for free.

Someone enters their name and then waits while a fake progress bar slowly loads and messages that say they’re looking through a ton of reports.

After a long wait they say they’ve found the person…click for the details.

You click and they want you to choose a plan.

Bubble has a high learning curve.

It does take a while for new users to figure out everything as far as how to use it. Then, there’s the whole other issue of trying to figure out how much the app will cost you to operate. Then, the whole thing of app security and trying to figure that out.

Bubble has a lot of good features…I do think a good business model would be to offer free help to overcome some of the learning curves.

It doesn’t. I thought maybe by now they would have made their page responsive. :man_facepalming:

I’m sure it’s frustrating to get an email saying there is a vulnerability but not being able to see what it is on their phone to see how urgent it is. Maybe it’s just me? :man_shrugging:

I think if they did that, then I would be out of a job. They really should pay the coaches to give people 1-on-1 help. Maybe just one free coaching session for a new Bubble user or something might be a good idea.

I hear what you’re saying but think if you were hosting your own application. There are costs associated with security monitoring services and it’s not outlandish to require additional cost for additional features like security monitoring, etc. The fact that bubble now offers this as part of the ecosystem vs. having to hire 3rd party pen-testers is a win in my book.

Not equivalent in the slightest, dude. This isn’t looking at the minutia of the logic in your conditions for workflows/actions or finding intrinsic security bugs related to the Bubble platform. It’s more like a dashboard, there’s no complex analysis being done here. For example it could find a “security error” that you already know about and don’t interpret as a security error in the context of your app.

Maybe I was a little over-zealous with the comparison. My point was that it’s a win for features and products like this to make it into the ecosystem. It encourages others to build cool products around bubble apps and over time I’m sure they’ll be changing up some things with it.

14 posts were merged into an existing topic: [merged discussion] Who is Bubble for and what features make sense

isn’t this the strategy of all security products, in the physical world as well?

Yes, I had the same feeling.

I understand it’s a separate app and has it’s own cost of doing business. However, they should consider apps that have all of their software needs met by a starter plan, and just want to secure their app. It would seem unreasonable to nearly 4x their cost to do so.

If it cannot be included to starter plans for free, perhaps offer an extra charge to include advanced security checks.

@emmanuel When will this be integrated with plans on dedicated instances?

These features can already be used on dedicated, but you should reach out to your account manager to look into this.

Existing flusk user here, this acquisition has caused a large number of issues in our integration, including:
-Missing database and page ratings that we had previously manually entered
-Random unnecessary emails, often with incorrect information (e.g. “you have 6000 errors in the last week”)
-Existing issues in the issues explorer wiped and replaced with “Default issue”

Also, the migration from the flusk support team to the general bubble support system is dissapointing. I was hoping there would continue to be some sort of specific flusk support, as the general bubble support does not have a good resolution record (or speed) in my experience.

I’m happy that you’re trying to offer security benefits to a wider bubble audience, but this shouldn’t be done at the expense of those who already use it.
