Full Calendar Plugin - Background Events

Hello guys,

I’m using the Full Calendar Plugin and in the documentation they talk about Background Events : Background Events - Docs | FullCalendar

In the plugin itself, we can easily create events but I have no clue how to create background events, it’s not straight forward. I would like to achieve something like in the following image : (the source would be events coming from my DB)
