Get approximate location even if location denied

Hello.
I was wondering if there was a way to display filtered results with current users city even if the user disabled there location. For eg. if a User’s current location is somewhere in New York City, Queens and the user has disabled current location, I would still like to display results in the user’s city or New York City as a whole ~ kind of like an approximate location.
I heard there was way to do this based on IP address and all that, but I am not sure.
