⚠️ Heads-up: Switching Editor Beta On/Off Triggers Live App Refresh for Live Users

Hi all,

Just a heads-up — and something I’ve also raised with Bubble Support.

I’ve noticed that switching the new Editor (Beta) on and off in a live environment forces the live app to display the “This app has been updated and needs to refresh” banner for users. Interrupting the users flow.

I’m surprised Bubble hasn’t been more cautious with this rollout. Ideally:

  • This behaviour should have been limited to development environments only, or

  • There should be a clear warning stating that toggling the editor beta will force a live app refresh for users.

At the moment, there’s no notification or alert to indicate this will happen, which makes it easy to trigger unintentionally — especially when simply reviewing logic in the live editor (which is normally a very safe action as editing is disabled).

This sounds like something that shouldn’t be the case? I’ve shared with the team internally so they can take a look

Thanks. Yeah I agree it shouldn’t happen. I also checked with another one of my live apps. I enabled the property editor and created a save point and it triggered the “We have just updated this page” banner
