Hiring Bubble/Xano Engineer for Neighborhood App

Hi there!

Looking to hire a Bubble/Xano Engineer for my project Common Agency. We work with neighborhoods to set up collectively governed Neighborhood Funds and digital Neighborhood Networks, to help people self-organize their neighborhoods to feel more like home.

We’re open to engineers with different levels of Bubble/Xano experience, and pay will change based on your technical background and what level of leadership you’d like to take.

What’s important to us is a love of building with others and alignment with our purpose. With that, there’s plenty we can do together.

@deborah.j.tien I would consider using Supabase instead of Xano. At least with Supabase you own the code, it is cheaper and if you like you can even run it yourself. Going the Xano route means you do not own the frontend code and do not own the backend code. Basically at the mercy of two companies and nothing you can do about it.

Can I ask why you want to use Xano?

We’re using Xano and not Bubble back-end because it provides more flexibility to mix & match front-end providers using same data with different tooling. For instance, we’re going to build some internal data analytics dashboards, and we’re thinking of using Retool instead of Bubble, to create something more quickly. We also might switch from Bubble to code in the future, and we thought it’d be a bit more modular/easier to transition one part at a time, instead of both front- and back-end together.

We’ve tried other back-ends and found Xano’s good and continuously getting even better - and the team behind Xano seems thoughtful and kind. We didn’t have as much experience with Supabase, which @sem suggested - doing some research now! (Thanks @sem !!!)
