How can I allow users to select icons as profile pictures?

Hi,
I have a usecase where I would like my users to select the icons and save as their profile picture.
Is there any way I can implement this?
What datatype should I choose so the icon selected is saved?
What element should I select so user can dropdown the icons that they wish to choose?
