I’m listing my app on a software marketplace and they are raising concerns that being built on Bubble poses an additional layer of risk for their users, e.g. in the unlikely event that Bubble shuts down, code lock-in issues, loss of control, etc.
How do I convince them that there isn’t any additional risk that my app is built on Bubble versus a self-hosted coded app?
Tell them that they are right because they are. The benefit though is that for a fraction of the cost product market fit can be obtained.
Most investors and founders do not understand that not money but TIME is the biggest issue. So anything that reduces the time needed is very interesting.
How about code lock-in concerns? For example, we are basically vulnerable to any price hikes Bubble imposes in future. A future price hike may make an app financially unviable to continue, and this would impact their users. Compare this to a traditional coded app, where a developer can choose to move the app elsewhere if the hosting price goes up.

While that is true and I agree wholeheartedly, that is a benefit for app developers and not the marketplace.
The marketplace doesn’t want a situation where its users are left high and dry because a platform which the app is built on shuts down. So they rather err on the side of caution and not take in any such apps.
tbh I wouldn’t be too concerned. one thing that i love about Bubble is that they do indeed care about the community and our thoughts. im only really aware of maybe 2 time since I’ve been bubbling (I’ve been bubbling for 6 years now) that bubble has increased/changed their pricing.
Build on Bubble and you know what the price will be for about 18 months, and if they pull the rug your business should have enough money / market validation to spend more on a hard coded product or move to another platform.
