How to copy linked GIF thumbnail to user's clipboard

I’m trying to replicate Loom’s functionality of a one-click experience to copy a linked GIF thumbnail. After it is pasted in a new email compose window, the gif links the user through to a pre-defined webpage. Here are the steps in Loom:

1. After recording a video, open the share menu, and select Linked GIF

2. Click Copy Thumbnail

3. User can then paste the GIF thumbnail into a new email compose window. The GIF has a hyperlink that redirects the user to the loom video’s webpage.

The user should be able to paste the hyperlinked GIF thumbnail into a new email compose window without requiring further formatting.

So far, I’ve tried using the Air Copy to Clipboard plugin - but the result is that the raw code gets copied to the clipboard, so when the user pastes it, the code is written as plain text. Like this:
