How to detect if keyboard is visible in a single page mobile app

I an building a single page mobile app which has a messaging feature between users. The problem I’m facing is when the input message field is clicked and keyboard appears on mobile app, it hides the input field behind it. Is there any way I can adjust the input field height based on keyboard visibility?
