How to display an image in an empty repeating group?

Hi guys,
I have a repeating group that has user profile pictures , how can I display an image in an empty cell index to indicate vacant positions such as below? Thanks

Rather than “index”, you might want to use “Current Cell’s Thing’s Photo” is empty.

Hi Eve,
This also doesn’t work. The cell is meant to show a user but as the cell is empty there is no “thing” to refer to yet.

EDIT: I mean the “thing” is accessible but repeating groups don’t show cells that are empty. I’d like to show the image in these empty cells
