Looking for a way to display related content based on what the user is currently viewing. I am pretty new to the platform so any suggestions or direction truly appreciated.
Not sure if I understand what you mean. What you describe seems like the job for a privacy rule or rules. One of them could be for the user data-type such as “if current user is this user then view all fields”.
Very difficult to provide specifics without more info on what you want to do. Perhaps you can share some part of your UI and provide some comments about the dB structure?
Sure, some more additional context…
Often times when viewing an ecommerce product, there are product recommendations around it as related content. Or if I am viewing a blog, oftentimes there will be suggested/related other blog entries displayed.
I am not a developer so I am just scratching the surface here and doing the research before building the database.
Jason, the short answer is yes
There are many different ways in which you can show or hide content to the user depending on a variety of conditions that you can build through dB, flows and even UI components.
Thinking about this further, the objects being displayed would all have a category tag, so i am thinking (hoping) it would be as simple as displaying other things with the same category at random (to start)
Perhaps you can think of this way.
- Any content you display on a front-end element that you set to be visible … will be shown
- Thereafter there are tons of ways to condition its display to the point of simply not displaying anything.
An oversimplification but just throwing it out there.
Thanks for your help. This apparently was me just being too green with everything Bubble. I have since educated myself and “get it”
