How to give condition in an input field when data enters in database

Hello, so here i have a POST API input fields where you can see there is a param named under ticketstatus,
now what i want is if the user select any value from the dropdown of ticketstatus then automatically it should take the value which user has selected or user has not selected any value then it should automatically take the data of Page URL which is there and vice-versa same goes for the param named engineer so how can i achieve that???

Inside this param field add the following
statement: Dropdown ticketstatus value is empty:format as text and then:
if yes Get data from page URL
if no Dropdown ticket value
