How to Update Bubble Templates Easily?

For Bubble Templates, I’m planning on launching one but it will have some plugins etc in it. Ideally I’d like to have the parent app which is on a paid plan which we use regularly, and then periodically publish updates to the template. I thought an easy way to do this would be the import/export app feature, except this isn’t available on free plans in Bubble. Is there a better way to do this? Or could we allow import/export on template plans?

Wondering if anyone knows of a better solution?

What do you mean by import app feature? I’ve never seen a function like that in the editor.

As far as I know, after releasing the template, in order to add more features and make them available to the already published template, you deploy to live from the template editor I think. Then anybody who already purchased the template would need to add those features too or start a new app from the updated template.

Template apps are on the Template Plan

and as such any paid plugins can be installed on the template app for free, and once a user downloads the template, the plugin is automatically installed, although in the event it is a paid plugin, the user will then need to pay or subscribe. But, even before doing so, the plugin is still in the app and all actions and features of the app that use the plugin are still setup properly.

In terms of the use of the import app feature, I doubt that is the approach you’d want to take as when adding in new features, your JSON file for the app changes, and I’m not sure that importing the new JSON file is going to overwrite the existing file or be seen as modifying it.

Just keep in mind the Parent App is the Template which is on a Template Plan and the sub apps that you create from the Template can be on Paid Plans, but the Template app itself is not.

If the app is on a template pan it can not import/export…seems like must be on growth plan for that

Are you basically wanting to offer a template that is a component library?
