How to update SSO email address?

Hi guys. I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but here it is:

UPDATE: Found it documented, although no actual solution: https://bubble.io/support/en/articles/8776438-why-are-emails-used-to-log-in-with-oauth-in-my-app-not-available-for-reuse

I’m having issues where a user who has signed up or connected an SSO (“login with google”, facebook, etc) keeps the email that the social platform originally sends, regardless of the user updating it or even we updating in the editor’s database. In our case, the third-party is onX maps.

It even shows up in the editor’s database search. So, for example, say john@doe.com linked his third-party account; Then he updated to jane@doe.com on the app. I’m still unable to signup a new user as john@doe.com, and if I search for john@doe.com in the database, I get the updated jane@doe.com as a response.

Is there a way to update the linked email on a SSO when the user updates their email with us?

Closed. Unfortunately, it’s bad news. I’ve spoken to the technical teams at Bubble and its a known limitation without any deadline to be fixed.

In our scenario, we simply blocked users authenticated with third parties from updating email address on our bubble platform.
