HTTP 504 Errors encountered by one of our users

Hello, based on a PostHog screen recording, we noticed our app did not load for one of our users and they got the following error message yesterday (UTC Fri, Aug 18, 2023 10:11 PM):

“Your browser was unable to load the application data. We’ve been notified of the issue. Please try again in a few moments and make sure not to use ad-blockers.”

We saw HTTP 504 errors on requests to the following resources:

  1. https:///package/dynamic_js/3264610e680d58bd38ba8b97beef12c3a3afd4470c26e685551ff8bf751ed374//live/shared_video_page/xnull/xfalse/xfalse/en_us/xfalse/xfalse/dynamic.js
  2. https:///package/run_css/7923634cf59ea78f3a99a3bae251f4298f45b5efad923f4cb1e5489b00fdbd7d//live/shared_video_page/xfalse/xfalse/run.css
  3. https:///api/1.1/init/data?location=https%3A%2F%2F%2Fshared_video_page%3FvideoId%3D1692387943197x564362451920093200

What could be the issue here? How can we prevent this from reoccuring?

Hi @josephmilkovitch,

Transient server-side issues such as that should be an infrequent occurrence, and there’s nothing you can do to prevent them. In fact, the only thing you can do is exactly what the message says – just try again in a few minutes.

I’ve seen that message before, but very rarely.

If you’re seeing such errors consistently, then by all means, submit an official bug report.
