It’s a quirk of the picture uploader. You can control how an image element looks, but you can’t control the picture uploader in the same way. If you want to have a better experience without using a plugin, here’s what you can do:
- Create a parent group which contains inside of it a picture uploader, an image element and a button or icon.
- Make the image (data source: Current user’s avatar) visible by default and the uploader invisible by default
- When the icon or button is clicked, hide the image and show the picture uploader (it’s best practice to use states and conditionals for this).
- Allow the user to upload a new picture
- When the picture is uploaded hide the uploader and make the image visible again.
Best wishes and good luck
