Hi, how can i just authenticate user with instagram so that i know he owns the instagram username he is using? I dont need to get any other data at this point.
You can authenticate a user with Instagram using oAuth. You can try to find a plugin that supports this at Plugins | Bubble
Can i use facebook login to authenticate instagram users? It is easier to deploy. Dont need to do app review etc.
Don’t believe so, even though Instagram is the parent company of Facebook. You can install the Bubble Built Instagram Plugin.

Developer page says to use the Facebook authentication instead of Instagram API for it.
Instagram “Basic Display” is still available. It just shows some basic info.
It does not authenticate, for that you need the Facebook login.
