🎉 Introducing Buildprint | Auto-generated documentation for complex Bubble apps

Updates:

  • chat UI improved
  • you can now delete the .bubble file after upload without deleting the docs (from the versions tab)
  • improved user guidance
  • improved an issue in onboarding that meant if a generation failed you’d get stuck (this affected 3 people, if you’re stuck let me know)
  • improved speed of processing!

I’d like to join in on all the praise. Great job!

I do have two feature requests, though.
It would be really helpful to be able to click straight through to the live page, as well as to the exact spot in the editor where an item is located.

Sure, can probably add!

Answer is not right now, because the editor makes this kinda hard to do, but what I will add is inline citations in the chat, so that from the chat you can go to the relevant docs.

Do you mind sharing if you used a plugin for this? I need to implement a copy feature and am debating building my own vs using something on the marketplace. There’s a very popular one that’s using a deprecated way of doing it, so I’m considering just building my own.

We have a couple people who are not bubble devs but need data from, and an understanding of, our bubble app for tableau/data science work. Literally only the last couple days testing they’ve been using this when they have questions about certain fields/data types instead of having to ask the devs - super helpful.

One deliverable I had for a project was some vaguely specified “Complete documentation including diagrams”.

Just slam dunked that nonsense.

Vibe-coded? Ominous.

Nice work!
I’d love to try it.

Looks very cool, I’d love to try it out on my app, cheers!

Literally maintaining an update now of my build and it’s a pain. Would love to try this and thank you!

v1.1 - Buildprints supports multilingual

- Multilingual support added
I saw lots of interest from particularly the Brazilian and Spanish communities who wanted docs in their native language, so multi-lingual support has been added to Buildprints. Now, you can define at the app level, which language you’d like documentation to be generated in.
- Model upgrade
Most functionalities now use the newly released Gemini 2.5 Flash, which is more effective than the previous model we were using. You’ll find better documentation results now.
- Improved chat performance
Chat is now significantly faster

Great software, I would like to test it pls share the invite link with me. Thanks

Coming soon.

An AI agent that knows your app, and what you’re working on right now.

This is super impressive and really useful @georgecollier . Amazing using the chat to get a clear English explanation of what’s going on in my app (and flow diagrams!). This will save me so much time in refreshing my memory on things before I make changes. Thanks!

Oh no…that looks like a…browser extension. Jokes aside, that will be dope. No more logging in Notion for me when this gets out!

That’s a screenshot of Buildprint stuck over the editor in Canva… but yes, it will be a browser extension

The biggest friction point to using Buildprint is switching tabs, and syncing the .bubble file. The extension will solve both of these.

Amazing stuff!

If you’re taking requests, I would like to share a Buildprint link with my colleague and he can jump right into to it.

For instance, I would to share

getbuildprints.com/[some-bubble-id]/documentation/pages/[some_page]

getbuildprints.com/[another-bubble-id]/chat/[some_chat_I_shared]

It will be happening soon, and this has been requested by agencies too.

We will be adding a ‘Snippets’ area which is shared between a project’s members where you can save useful charts/diagrams/chats for future reference.
