Is the old "expression parenthesis" reliable? (Now that expression composer is gone )

I have to edit a bunch of long expressions, right in the middle of them. Is the old “expressions parentheses” beta feature reliable for this?

you will see the older experimental feature we have for “Expression parentheses,” which is similar to the parentheses feature in the beta — this older experimental feature will continue to be available.

With the expression composer gone, I see this is my only option.

Just wondering how reliable it is to edit. Is anyone using it regularly to edit the beginning and middle of expressions?

For clarity, I’m talking about this:

You can’t use it to edit the middle of expressions except in very narrow circumstances. As with all things, just try it and undo if you don’t like it.
