Leafy Maps 🌿 (new free plugin)

I already saw your post but thought it was a solution to the plugin saying error. Andrew and my problem was that the map was showing but sometimes not completely. Anyway I could solve this problem so I don’t care.
I am not someone to ask for help at the first little problem I encouter. Like you say, this is free so no one has the right to complain. What you propose is already awesome.
I would just have like a little info on wheter this plugin will still be working after March or if I should invest time on finding an other solution. On your plugin page you say : “Do you rely on this plugin commercially and want to fund its maintenance so it never stops working?
Email me, the author

So I sent a mail, but until now never got an answer.

@vini_brito Why don’t you create a paid version and get it over with?

Glad to hear you are alive. Thank you for your work on this plugin.

Do you know why users can no longer install your version of Leafy Maps from the repository? Is it due to the out-of-date message at the top of the plugin page?

Also, do you know the user, pkafkias@draxis.gr, who is putting up this other version of Leafy Maps?

I tried searching the forum, but I found no posts with that email or with mentioning issues installing except for this one: Leafy Maps 🌿 (new free plugin) - #620 by f.dannunzio92

Thank you again for your help.

@thinus1 Not enough sales to justify.
@ythomas @Mapping_Projects Yes, I will get it updated and relisted eventually. And no, I don’t know about that other version, it is just an old fork, maybe made public by accident.

Thanks @vini_brito. I also sent you a small donation related to this work.

All the best to you and yours in 2024.

Thanks for the plugins @vini_brito and you’ve inspired me to take your course on building plugins. (https://pluginmakery.unlimitedbubbling.dev/).

I am taking Vini’s course to help educate me . This should not only help alleviate risks when relying on third party code (which I am right now) but also allow me to contribute where I can and fix anything where my skills allow or at least hire a developer to fix what I may rely on (or use AI?).

free plugins are cool, but know your risks all

There is also tons of extra stuff leaflet.js has access too, check em out: Plugins - Leaflet - a JavaScript library for interactive maps

Hi @vini_brito

Bubble says this amazing plugin is deprecated and may lose functionality on March 12 :grimacing:

Can you please update the plugin?

Thank you!

@greg18 Do you use the Leafy Maps - Get HERE temporary token or the Leafy Maps - Get BR coordinate data from ESRI action? Those are the only two actions that would break after 3/12/24

No I do not use either of those Leafy actions. That is good news!

How do you know that those are the only affected actions, and that other Leafy actions will not be affected?

Thank you @tylerboodman

This required update by Bubble only breaks Server side actions.

Thankfully this plugin is free/open source so you can inspect how it is built, here is the Actions tab: Bubble Plugin Editor - Leafy Maps

You can see only the 1st and 3rd one are setup as Server side

The middle one is client side only and meant to just send some data from inside a map popup to the host page on the user’s browser

The rest of the plugin consists of API calls (just like the API Connector but built into the plugin) and actions tied to the plugin element you drag onto the page (client side)

Hi @vini_brito

I wanted to know if you were planning to release the plugin before March 12, 2024, to find out if I’m using it for my client or not, because I don’t want to take the risk of using it if you don’t plan to update.

I look forward to reading your reply, as I suspect I’m not the only one in this situation.

Thank you

If this is still the workaround approach, could you elaborate on where one would create those lists?

How to detect a click event inside a marker popup? I’m trying to open a Bubble popup by clicking the marker popup for more details.

I found the marker hover event and marker click event, but I didn’t find any option for inside popup click event. I tried using a hyperlink in the popup HTML, but it tries to replace the current page with redirection.

Hello everyone! The journey was long, intense and fruitful, but I no longer had the free time available to work on my plugins, so now Zeroqode maintains them. You can reach out to them through their support channels from now on
They have the structure to push them further and I see them as a great new house for the plugins.

I will ask the mods to lock this thread, but regardless of whether they do it or not I won’t be monitoring the forum anymore for plugin mentions.

See you in my next journey and thanks for everything! (and all the fish) :dolphin:
I wish success for all of us!
