Making a timeline with dates and employees in a repeating group

Before I advice further I would like to double check your drag&drop functionality.
When dragging a task over a new date cell, you want this change to be applied only to that specific user you’re dragging that task from … or you want this to be applied to all users?

As you see on this picture, i have a list of all available task there isnt applied to a employee yet… they are all in a dragable group so i can drop them in the repeating groups dropable groups… my idea is that i should be able to assign a task to one employee at the time… on each employees timeline… but if its a task where 2 employees are needed i also should he able to drag it to 2 different employees timeline so the task will be displayed 2 Times but in each employees timeline row

Ok, my understanding was that you’re building a drag/drop functionality within the same repeating group, or within nested repeating groups with data linking (where cells can be linked to each other.

But you have an external repeating group with a list of tasks, which you want to drag over to a different repeating group. This is not possible, not with the Draggable elements plugin.
There might be other plugins that help with that, for example Drag it - RG->RG paid plugin, but I have not used that one.

I dont want to drag it over… its set to bounce back again… but i want a workflow that when task dragable element is dropped on the dropable element it will assign the task in the dragable element to the user… and it seems i kinda got that you work yesterday…

Only issue now is that its not applied to a date and doesnt shows in the correct date cell that i dropped it to

That’s not how the Draggable elements plugin works. The plugin offers 1 functionality only, when a DropArea has a group dropped on it and a workflow is associated with this drop area, then the workflow will run.
The tasks you want to drag reside within an external repeating group. A repeating group draggable cell’s value cannot be accessed outside of the Repeating group it resides in (not by dragging it). We won’t know which task we’re dragging so we cannot assign that task.

and as you see it actually have changed information for that specific task now status goes from not planned to planned(ikke planlagt to planlagt)

and it also gets assigned a date in task date… but the date is the first date in my list of dates and not the one that i drop it on… and also it doesnt assign the user to it…

What’s your current workflow task? Is your drag/drop set to display one single task across all 12 columns?
And is that task “Test task for dragable groups”?

The drag /drop inside your nested repeating groups I mean. But now it can be any group really (doesn’t have to be a drag/drop) since you’re not dragging inside that Nested RG

current workflows task is the event there type of thing is set to task as you see in the first picture…
the drag element only contains one single task… and then there is a dragable elemet for each task as you see here:

so every unassigned task will be listed over there with each theres dragable group…

in the timeline the dragable element should be able to contain multiple task for each day… so therefor its set to display current colums task converted to list's workadress extract city: split by (,)
as you can see here:

but… the task should only be displayed if they are assigned to a user… so assigned task=table user’s current rows user…
but i cant use that expression because the task table is nested in a date table… so can only use the expression current colums date

it is the expression for the text element in my drag on drop… telling what data of the assigned task there should be displayed… in my case i only want the city of the task workadress to be displayed… and then i will make a workflow that when a task contains a workadress set a marker on the map… and in that way it will make a route with all task for the day per employee

That data source expression pulls the first task in your task list - across all users and all dates. When an element is dropped on a DropArea, and it can be any element really, we could even drop an elephant (joking) - then your workflow will run for that first task, that task’s data will be changed - regardless of what task you’re actually dropping on it.
So, you can only change 1 task and the external repeating group has to include that exact same task.

But that’s not what you want, what you actually want is to modify any task that task you are dragging from your external repeating group positioned on the top right side of the page.
As said, this is not possible with this plugin.

no i only want to modify 1 task at the time… that single one that im dragging… when that one is dragged and dropped on the dropzone… that task should me modified… that part works already now… so we dont need to think more on that… Task gets modified!..

now when i drag that one task to the dropable element i need an action where the dragged task gets added to a list of a user…

now current rows user have a task assigned to them because that task is on the list “assigned task”

now what i want to display in that nested repeating group is current user each item assigned task… but i want them to be displayed in input date (as we maked earlier) value…

right now i have succeding get them to be displayed as you can see here:

but they show every task there is assigned for every date field… so right now there is displayed 2 task because there is assigned 2 task to the user… but both task are duplicated in each field…

so how i understand you what you say is not possible i already have maked possible… now its just a matter of how current rows user’ assigned task is displayed

Ok, got it, sorry I’m just tired today, was thinking about completely something else.
There are 2 steps remaining. Saving the date and the users in your tasks data type, right?
Checking your previous screenshots I see that the start date in your List of dates plugin is set as Current date/time. This date will update every time you load the page with the Current date/time in real time at the time. When you save the date into your database it gets saved as a static date. So the date in your repeating group won’t match the date in your database. Just set the start date in your List of Dates to Current date/time:rounded down to day.

To be able to assign the user to your Task, use a dropdown instead of an input and reference your Parent repeating group Users as choices source, to avoid performing a search again.

so now the user gets assigned when drag and drop… but it still doesnt assign the task to only be displayed at task date’s date… but in every list of dates…

and i see that the list of assigned task for the user is showed individual in each group… is it maybe possible to get the showed in one group but split by a comma for instance…

Did you filter your nested Tasks repeating group on Input date? Also, since you’re using a dropdown for the users, you won’t need client side filtering.
Use these constraints plus any other filters you might need, eg status.
