Manually typed text getting highlighted while typing and then deleted!

Recently, whenever I’m manually typing (like with an arbitrary text or entering a Regex expression or whatever) and I pause for about a half second, all of the text I’m typing gets highlighted (which means if I don’t notice, all of that text gets deleted with my next keystroke). I thought the “typed text getting deleted” was just a me thing - glad but not glad to hear that I’m not the only one. I haven’t bothered to submit a bug report since my last 20 reports went no where.

To be honest I’m just tired of reporting bugs in the platform. There are so many. So many new ones. So many old ones that are never resolved.

At least now I know the text delete isn’t just a me thing.

That was my intention in posting. I’m certainly not going to bother wasting more time submitting abug’s report, but I wanted to confirm with others. It’s not just me, etc. Based on the tepid response last time this stopped working, and the week it took Bubble to patch it, it seems that combining dynamic and static text isn’t all too common.

Which makes me wonder, am I doing something wrong because when this feature doesn’t work, I shut down my laptop and go play pickeball… or build some apps in cursor or bolt. I don’t understand how Bubble has any significant utility without being able to use dynamic text ; but maybe I’m doing it all wrong…

if you are combining dynamic with static text you should do it within “arbitrary text”

You can’t use dynamic text in a lot of places and it is very limiting. Drives me crazy having to write if/then statements for simple things that I could just use dynamic text for.

ie: element width/height/padding/margin etc

Of course. and that’s where this bug gets me, when I’m typing text and it highlights it so that the next keyboard press erases all that I wrote…

I get the bug in most places I type text in the app - I guess that’s just a me thing then. I’ve learned to type faster.
