Manually typed text getting highlighted while typing

Recently, whenever I’m manually typing (like with an arbitrary text or entering a Regex expression or whatever) and I pause for about a half second, all of the text I’m typing gets highlighted (which means if I don’t notice, all of that text gets deleted with my next keystroke). This makes manually entering any text absolutely brutal as you need to constantly move the cursor to the end while praying you don’t delete your text by accident.

I’m curious if anyone else is seeing this? The other person I’m working with is experiencing it also.

many issue with dynamic expression & everything related to it … and they doesn’t seem to care about it…

Yes dude this is annoying me to no end. It’s deleting my text all the time, so I am working slow right now :turtle:

Going to submit a bug report now.

Hey @fede.bubble – this is actually a bug that can have serious implications.

This is me trying to type 1,2,3,4,5 with slight variations in speed before my next keystroke and not touching anything else.

Looks like the wait time is too quick, and it selects the whole text instead of putting your cursor at the end of the body of the text = clearing it all out if you try to type

Yes I am facing the same issue. It is really difficult to work. I hope bubble fixes this ASAP.

Did you send a bug report? That will help speed it up.

How do you know that it will?

Yeah this is a problem along with a few dozen other bugs since the scheduled maintenance last week

Any news about this bug?

secret Bubble conspiracy

negative, they just keep sending back one question at a time :man_shrugging:t2:

I asked internally. Luis, looks like your bug report was escalated to our specialized team and they are looking into the behavior further

It keeps getting worse and worse…

Now it overwrites in Custom Event Parameter Names (which can’t even by dynamic) by immediately going to the type if there is a pause in typing in the name.

And when clicking on the “first item” option it clears out all the filters entered :exploding_head:!!

How on earth has this been going on for days already!?!

Why are we the testing ground still?

@fede.bubble Is there anything that has a higher priority than fixing this bug that handicaps all Bubble developers from getting any work done?

Just checked. Support team built a ticket for the engineering team so now it’s a matter of them getting to it.

Ok thanks for the update. What does that mean a matter of them getting to it? Not shooting the messenger, but how has this gone on for days and how don’t we have a timeline? Should we all go on vacation for a few days? a few weeks?!

i’m not seeing this behavior. does it still happen if you disable all plugins from your browser?

Also seeing this, will send a bug report

I believe a fix was pushed for this. Can anyone check? Looking good?

Thanks for the update.

So for the 3 issues (not sure if all related) one is fixed fully, one is fixed partially and one is not fixed.

  • manually typing (like with an arbitrary text) and pause for about a half second, all of the text I’m typing gets highlighted → Partially Fixed :hammer_and_wrench:.
All the typing gets highlighted BUT only once, so when you unhighlight the text and pause again it won’t highlight the text a 2nd time. This may be expected beahvior for some crazy reason but I’d consdier it a bug. However, the editor is now usable as it only selects the manual text 1 time.

  • when clicking on the “first item” option it clears out all the filters entered → FIXED :white_check_mark:

  • Custom Event Parameter Names (which can’t even by dynamic) by immediately going to the type if there is a pause in typing in the name. - NOT fixed :cross_mark: This is defintiely the least important but still a bug…

Thanks @fede.bubble

@brenton.strine yes of course tested in multiple browsers without plugins…
