Monthly Community Update -- December 2025

Google just announced Workspace Studio. OpenAI released their workflow builder about a month ago. Everyone is scrambling to build the Gmail of AI automation.

Ironically, sadly, unbelievably, you guys built it 10 years ago, but you never improved the core functionality. There are still no parallel sequences or loops. If you make an LLM call that takes 3 minutes, the entire workflow hangs until that call is finished. Now you have 2 minutes left before the workflow terminates.

What is your plan for growth? The idea that the next big Bubble app will be a laundromat point of sale software is naive at best. Every niche for traditional software that can be occupied has already been occupied. This isn’t 2016 anymore.

The only way to achieve growth in the modern software landscape is to exploit untapped niches with deep vertical integration of AI + UI. You understand this because all your efforts are being invested into YOUR OWN AI Agent, instead of giving us the best tools to build OUR AI Agents.

Bubble in 2025 should have been the place to have “the best of both worlds.” Complex automations, agents, flows, robust JSON handling, auth, an app-like experience with “Day 2 stability.” Instead, it has become a niche tool fading into obscurity. Something like the equivalent of IBM mainframes, that exists only to siphon money off of big enterprises who are too risk-averse to migrate off legacy software.

I hope I’m wrong, but I think your revenue is about to hit a wall. I have a habit of delivering warnings that people disregard to their later detriment. I hope this isn’t one of those cases, but I predict it will be.

Specifically about what exactly? On Android there are unfortunately still slowness problems when opening.. my app takes 2 seconds to open on iOS and 8 seconds on Android.. much better than the 18 before but will this be implemented?

There are other very obvious bugs on Android that I myself have reported several times but they are still there. And I have to say unfortunately the support is sometimes lost in asking for information that you have already given with standard emails and this really makes you lose the desire to report bugs.

On Android the status bar is always white, it doesn’t turn black. This didn’t happen before I don’t know if the changes to 16kb affected anything.

Plus when you click on a group, the workflow doesn’t start… this doesn’t happen on iOS. It would be important to have a sort of list of common problems and when they are solved a flag is placed.. so that everyone here is aware of how everything is really going.. We are in beta phase so I understand everything, but having a list of problems that appears when it is solved I think everyone would like it as an option.. @nick.carroll @fede.bubble

But why do you focus on these stupid things? I don’t agree at all. You can get the pdf in different ways, even by building the plugin with code yourself. I think Bubble has many other priorities honestly at the moment.

Why is bubble constantly down? What is everyone moving to?

Bubble went down last night around 4am local NYC time due to a Cloudflare outage outside of our control

Great update Josh and keep up the good working. There’s a lot of hate on this forum and I don’t understand why. It’s pretty clear you[re working hard and have a vision.

Will that in any way affect the API tab of the plug-in editor?

I ask because the UI’s are nearly identical, and you can copy/paste between them; so it’s easy to imagine they might share some code. Just wanting to understand the full scope of any potential impacts.

I have a slight feeling it’s not improving the api connector but instead just giving it its own tab and no need to install the plugin. Some improvements to the api connector would be welcome. I’d especially like notes.

I hear ya, but the following makes me think otherwise…

It suggests there might be some UX changes - however minor. It could surely use an overhaul, but I guess we’ll see.

Hi @josh and team,

Thank you for the update, it’s great to see the progress around the editor. I’d like to suggest adding a native dark mode for the Bubble editor. Spending many hours working inside the editor with a bright white interface causes significant eye strain and visual fatigue. A built-in dark theme would greatly improve comfort, accessibility, and the overall developer experience.

Appreciate all the hard work!

Just saw the updated Bubble Global, and stoked my app is on there! … would have been great to have a link to the websites being showcased instead of redirecting via a workflow action, might’ve encouraged more submissions! @josh

Happy nonetheless!

Hey @7788kit - congrats on being featured! Can you share more here? we link to site for all apps featured (Opens in a new tab) so I’m not sure I understand your feature request

Hey Theo,

I just mean getting a backlink, right now showcased apps urls are just text and I assume it uses a workflow to open the link as I see no anchor elements.

Thanks!

I hate to say it, but after switching off Bubble, my app went from roughly 300 DAU to about 1,000 DAU. Something was clearly holding it back.

My best guess is that moving from CSR to SSR made Google significantly happier, likely combined with major performance gains. Whatever the exact cause, 2–4 weeks after the switch, ranking metrics jumped across the board. We also saw an immediate and significant increase in retention rate, page views, and time on site.

Bubble will always have its place, but it never moved as quickly in this space as I expected. It honestly feels like things have only gone downhill since the WU update. Once I nailed performance through code, time on site jumped almost immediately. This is by no means a lot of dau or anything just food for thought

Could it be a function of SEO taking a while to build up? Maybe you would have hit that stride on Bubble even if you didn’t change.

I think it would be cool (though not very practical) to launch two nearly identical sites and compare SEO over time.

Also, what did you end up using?

React + Node, with some Django and Python as well. We saw an initial traffic drop of roughly 30% for a short period, but it rebounded once Google fully recrawled the site. I use claude vscode cli honestly building a website it in it was easier than bubble

Building a website with Wix is easier than vibe coding it.
