Mux.com OR ziggeo.com OR Wasabi?

Creating a Udemy-clone, which video player/recording provider is better? (Performance and Pricing-wise)

Mux.com OR ziggeo.com OR Wasabi ?

The object storage provider?

Yes, because after all what do we need for a udemy-like clone?

Creators upload their videos
Students watch the video and pay for it.

So why would I choose Mux or Ziggeo or Wasabi?

I have contacted both Mux and Ziggeo teams, to explain to me their prices better than their website’s pricing calculator, because when I did a rough calc, for 90,000 view for a 45mins videos/ month

I will have to pay for Mux around 5.250$/month, and for Ziggeo is not clear because they consider it as an enterprise tier so I have to wait them to tell me exactly, but now is the surprise…

For Wasabi for the same calcs, it will cost 0.225TB storage and 40TB egress “and Yes you will pay for the egress with wasabi” which will cost us only 250$ or less :face_with_raised_eyebrow::roll_eyes:.

If anyone thinks I did my calcs wrong please let me know, and if you think there are more added value in any of the solution more that the other please let me know, and if you think that wasabi + HTML5 video kind of configuration is a bad way to go also PLEASE LET ME KNOW :blush::blush:

Your calculation is correct when it comes to storage costs.
However, you are comparing video-specialised SaaS with object storage provider.

Wasabi, which is an object storage provider does not have the solution nor infrastructure to deliver video streaming.

Long story short: Wasabi is not YouTube.

P.s. I am not knowledgeable at all about streaming saas.

I totally understand, but to build a Udemy-like platform using bubble.io, do I need Mux or Ziggeo? Or Wasabi as a storage can suffice?

For example in this video you can reference a video link that is stored on Wasabi and play it when needed.

I can’t say regarding Max or Ziggeo.
However, you must exclude Wasabi, which is simply not built for your use-case.

@redvivi What would be your recommendations?

interesting discussion - I was having trouble using the standard Bubble S3 urls on mobile for streaming video content without lag… was ok ish on desktop with a decent connection but alas, mobile not so.

Mux looks like a good option along with this plugin: VideoJS Advanced + MUX (All Media) Plugin | Bubble however its somewhat complicated, so parking this for a while. I am however using the plugin for video playback, and its great.

Ziggeo: I have an account and am testing now, so Ill report back with what I find along the way.
