My sign up form originally only had one register button and it signed up the user and redirected them to the student dashboard. I copied and pasted that button to make a choice to go to the teacher dashboard instead, and changed the workflow to direct to the teacher dashboard. It works, but then a few seconds later redirects back to the home page. That is not in the workflow. Why is it doing that?

I found this one. Could this be the problem? Do I need to add a step that says to log the user in? Does it not automatically log them in when you sign the user up?
I would try removing that and seeing if that addresses the immediate issue at hand. If so, you’ll need to make sure users are logged in at the initial Sign the User Up workflow.
I’d also highly recommend using privacy rules to protect sensitive data, and have a field on your user called ‘Role’ with options for Student, Teacher, Admin, etc. That would allow you much more flexibility in your ability to show/hide elements, creating privacy rules, and page forwarding
