Any word on this? Is Bubble really about to release mobile-only as GA without a solution for password resets?
I’ve been working on this for days.
I can’t use the reset password email because that opens a web app page. When the user resets their password via the web app: 1. it’s not a good user experience to have to leave the app and 2. mobile is a separate session so even though they can successfully reset their password, they can’t use the new password in mobile and 3. the whole point of mobile only is to not have web. I don’t want to pay for a web app just because mobile doesn’t have all critical features built.
Support told me to use the webview, but that still brings users outside the app. So same problem of separate web and mobile sessions.
I resigned to using social logins, but none of the plugins for apple sign in seem to work on the Bubble mobile editor. Paying BDK $30+/mo doesn’t seem reasonable just for login management.
Magic link doesn’t allow opening a mobile view after login.
ChatGPT told me to use deep links to get the magic link working. This feels very hacky and I don’t trust it.
Has anyone found ANY solution to logins and password resets with mobile only?
Update - Bubble confirmed that there truly is no solution for password resets on mobile. You have to do the password reset on web, which I’m doing via a Webview. This pulls the user out of your app, brings them to a browser for a password reset, then you have to have a message for them to return to the app AND restart it because the web and mobile sessions are separate so mobile won’t know the new password.
Support tells me that Bubble is “prioritizing” this… though I find that hard to believe when this problem was identified 9 years ago.
Hi there @tdog2x , I decided to split your replies from the old topic from 2016 to avoid confusion. To clarify, the discussions on that thread predate the Native Mobile editor this past June so they are irrelevant to the new way to build mobile apps.
In terms of password resets you are absolutely right, you have to use a webview at the moment. However, the team has been working on a new way to reset passwords natively for Mobile. You should see an announcement about it go out this week or next when it goes live.

Ah ok. When I was asking Bubble support about this, they sent me this link and told me to read about what other people are doing, so I didn’t realize it was outdated.
