Are you tired of wrestling with the API Connector to get Mailgun to work just right? Have you ever wanted to send a weekly newsletter where every single user gets a unique, personalised list of items, without building complex, slow backend workflows?

If so, I’m excited to announce a new plugin we’ve been working on to solve these exact problems: Advanced Mailgun: Templates & Dynamic Digests.

This is a complete, server-side toolkit designed to unlock the full power of Mailgun for your Bubble app.

:sparkles: What does it do?

This plugin offers two core, server-side actions:

1. Simple Templated Emails (with attachments!) A rock-solid action for all your transactional needs.

  • Welcome emails, password resets, order confirmations.

  • Easily pass dynamic variables to your Mailgun templates.

  • Supports a list of file attachments.

2. The Ultimate Dynamic Digest Action This is the heart of the plugin. Send a single email campaign to a list of users, where each user receives a unique, personalised digest of items relevant only to them.

  • Decoupled Logic: Match users from your Recipient List with content from a separate Digest Item List using a common “link” field.

  • Advanced Many-to-Many Matching: The link fields can be a single Thing or a list of Things. The plugin will include an item if any of the recipient’s links match any of the item’s links.

  • “Match All” Fallback: If a user has no specified interests, you can have them receive a global digest of all items.

  • Smart Data Formatting: The plugin automatically handles Bubble’s tricky data types. It correctly formats Dates, Date Ranges, and File/Image URLs (//s3... becomes https://s3``...) so they look perfect in your emails.

  • :locked_with_key: Secure by Design: All actions run on Bubble’s server. Your API keys and data are never exposed to the user’s browser.

  • :hammer_and_wrench: Built-in Diagnostics: The digest action returns a clean JSON snapshot of the first recipient and their resolved data, making setup and troubleshooting a bit easier.
