I’m excited to announce the launch of the Generate Table PDF Report plugin. It’s a powerful plugin that’s designed to help you reliably generate PDF reports of tabular data directly from your Bubble apps.

Why This Plugin?

While building some client apps, I encountered the need for a reliable solution to generate PDF reports featuring tables with custom content. Many clients required various types of table reports across different parts of their apps. To address this, I created the Generate Table PDF Report plugin, which allows you to configure table structures and content dynamically using JSON.

I’ve also created a tool that will help you generate the necessary JSON - so don’t let that intimidate you!

Key Features:

  • Dynamic Table Configuration: Customize table columns, including titles, visibility, alignment, and width, through JSON configuration.

  • Flexible Content Management: Define table content dynamically, ensuring that your reports always reflect the most up-to-date data. Tutorial in the attached Loom below.

How It Works:

  1. Add the Plugin Element: Simply add the PDF reporting element to your page.
  2. Configure Your Table: Define your table columns and properties using a config JSON. Use the Config JSON generator to generate this easily.
  3. Set Up Dynamic Content: Use JSON to dynamically populate your table with data from your app. We recommend applying the :formatted as text operator on a list to build a JSON Array for this input.
  4. Generate and Download: Run the workflow to generate and download the PDF with your custom table.
